Governor Charlie Baker’s office announced the launch of the “Stop the Spread” campaign. The campaign launches free COVID-19 testing sites in eight communities from July 10 to to August 14.

Free testing sites will be hosted in Chelsea, Everett, Fall River, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Marlborough, and New Bedford.

The population of these eight cities makes up 9% of the state’s population. In the last two weeks, 27% of the state’s positive tests have come from residents of these cities.

The positive test rate in these cities has been 8% over the last two weeks. State-wide, only 2% of tests conducted have been positive.

Tests are available to everyone at these sites at no cost. Those who wish to be tested do not need to have any symptoms.

A list of facilities and operating hours can be found on the state website.
