WORCESTER – The National Weather Service [NWS] is warning residents in Worcester and other cities and towns in the area that Thursday morning’s commute may be treacherous due to periods of freezing rain.

According to NWS, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 PM tonight -Wed., Feb. 6 – into the following morning. The forecast calls for freezing rain that could accumulate to one-tenths of an inch to two-tenths of an inch of ice when the rain stops. Roads are expected to be slippery and all travel beginning tonight into tomorrow morning’s commute may be difficult.
