Gasoline prices in Massachusetts find self-serve, regular unleaded averaging at $2.35 per gallon — up one cent this week, according to AAA Northeast.
The Mass. price is four cents higher than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.31.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was fifteen cents higher at $2.50.
“Crude oil prices have continued their ascent in recent days, due to a growing belief that global supplies are tightening,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “The start of refinery maintenance season plus the increased demand that comes with milder weather could start to pull pump prices higher over the coming weeks.”
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 88 cents, from a low of $2.17 to a high of $3.05. A
