6 Great Halloween Events Happening this Week in Worcester

Calling all ghosts, ghouls, and zombies! Halloween is this week and holiday themed events are happening all over Worcester.

Get goosebumps at the Worcester Public Library Roosevelt Branch! 

On Saturday, October 26, bring the children and stop by the Roosevelt Branch Library at 1006 Grafton Street for their “Tales Best Told in the Dark” event.

Storyteller David Mello will chill you with a collection of poems, stories, and songs, each amplified by props and shadow puppetry. This event runs from 4 PM to 5 PM, and children are encouraged to wear their costumes. Stick around after the event for a trick-or- treat monster hunt.

The Ecotarium has both tricks and treats this Halloween!

On October 26 and 27, the Worcester Ecotarium is welcoming the scary season with their Halloween event called, Science Tricks and Animal Treats.

The event features science programs that explain the way nature seems to have its own  tricks, including animal camouflage and invisible scientific forces. After some tricks, the Ecotarium is talking about treats by showing how the wildlife keepers use treats and training to enrich the animals’ lives. For even more fun, all attendants are welcome to dress in costume!

Get the little ghosts and ghouls ready for a family-friendly party everyone will love!

Building Blocks Play Center at 997 Millbury Street, Worcester is planning their first annual Halloween Spooktacular on Sunday October 27 from 4 PM to 7 PM.

To kick off their Spooktacular, the Building Blocks Play Center is filling their 3 hour event with plenty of activities, including pumpkin painting, games, goodies, character visits, and a costume contest. All guests must register for entry. The cost of tickets is $15 for each child, adults are admitted for free.

The American Antiquarian Society has a treat for everyone!

From 5 PM to 7 PM on October 30, all interested visitors can drop in and join their Chat with a Curator: Halloween Event to view and discuss a selection of collection materials about Halloween. The materials include illustrated editions of classic scary tales, “haunted diaries,” and documents from the Salem Witch Trials.

The program is free of charge; however, donations of $5 are greatly recommended and appreciated.

Keep your Halloween fun and safe this year! 

Hosted by Worcester Police Department and Oak Hill CDC, the fifth annual Worcester Hill-O-Ween is a wholesome event for the family. Located at 124 Providence Street, families are invited to a Halloween party and trick-or-treating event from 5 PM to 8 PM on Halloween night

Looking for some frightening fun? 

The city’s Factory of Terror will surely scare the ghost right out of you! Worcester’s Factory of Terror consists of five haunting attractions, including Drcaula’s Hideaway and Bloodworth Dungeon.

The Factory of Terror is open every weekend and Halloween until October 31, so prepare for frights and laughter, and get your tickets!
