WORCESTER – Police responded to reports of a break-in on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Habibi Smokeshop at 650 Main St., leading to the arrest of a minor on several charges.
After receiving the report at around 3 AM, police arrived at the scene to find a 17-year-old male being held on the ground by another man.
According to the Worcester Police Department, the witness said that he was driving by the location and noticed the glass door was smashed. He observed the intruder, confronted him, and detained him until police arrived.
The department says the officers corroborated the account of the witness. They also located a tote bag which had stolen items and a hammer inside.
The 17-year-old faces charges of:
- Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony;
- Vandalism;
- Larceny from a Building; and
- Possession of a Burglarious Instrument.
