WEST BOYLSTON – A dog was found Sunday night tied to a street sign in West Boylston, and police are hoping to find the owners.
It is unclear how or why the dog got here, but around 8:30 PM on Sunday, a passerby noticed the black mutt at the intersection of Bunker Hill Parkway and Maple Street and alerted police.

The dog is friendly and hopped right into the police cruiser. The dog had no tags and the animal control officer brought him to the Worcester Animal Rescue League for further care.
Despite commentary on social media to the contrary, on Monday, shortly before 4 p.m., police said that no one had claimed the dog yet, but that “Danny” was being well cared for at the shelter and is “doing fine, eating well, is in good shape and resting comfortably.” If Danny is not claimed in seven days, he will go up for adoption.
If anyone recognizes this dog, or knows where he came from, please notify the West Boylston Police Department at 774-450-3510.
