A second athlete from the Holy Cross Women’s Rowling Team has been released from Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida.
The Athletic Department announced today that Paige Cohen, a junior English and Political Science major. was released Saturday afternoon.
Cohen is the second hospitalized member of the team released from Lawnwood since an accident Wednesday morning. Maegan Moriarty, a Spanish major and former captain of the Rowing Team, was released Thursday evening.
While travelling in two vans on Wednesday in Vero Beach, Florida one was involved in a traffic collision with a pickup track. Eight people were transported to the hospital, four by life flight.
Grace Rett, a sophomore and world record holder, was killed in the accident.
There has been an outpouring of support from the community in Florida. The City of Vero Beach is displaying Holy Cross colors near the scene of the accident.
