WORCESTER – A Trooper with the Massachusetts State Police witnessed a Toyota Camry fail to stop when turning onto Belmont St. from Edward St., and again at the traffic signal at the intersection of I-290, during the early morning of Saturday, October 3.
The Trooper stopped the vehicle at around 2:30 AM.
The driver, Devon Denis, 28, of Southbridge, had an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, the Trooper located a 9mm firearm in the glove compartment.
The Trooper also discovered a scale, and a substance believed to be cocaine.
Bail was set at $7,500 and Denis faces charges of:
- Carrying a Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without FID Card
- Possession of a Large Capacity Weapon
- Possession of a Class B Substance
- Speeding
- Fail to Stop
