WORCESTER – Areas of spotty very light snow is expected at times today with a dusting of snow at the very most expected across Central Massachusetts.

High temperatures on Monday will be in the mid to upper 30s.

Here’s what the rest of the week looks like:

Tuesday through Thursday: After a clear night with low temperatures near 20 Degrees, a gradual increase in clouds are expected during the day on Tuesday as a low pressure system begins to approach the area. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees.

That low pressure system will pass well offshore of the New England coast on Tuesday night. This means that only a little bit of light snow can be expected for a while on Tuesday night with a dusting of snow likely.

The bigger story from this storm system will be the windy weather that is expected on Wednesday. Northwest winds will gust up to 35 to 40 mph at times on Wednesday.

Windy and cold weather is expected on Wednesday night under clear skies. The combination of low temperatures of between 10 and 15 Degrees and northwest winds gusting up to 40 mph will lead to wind chill temperatures of Zero to 10 below zero. Brrrrr!!

Friday through Sunday:  The winds will greatly diminish on Thursday under sunny to partly sunny skies. High temperatures Thursday will be near 30 Degrees.

Mild temperatures along with rain shower activity is expected on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s high temperatures will be in the middle 40s. High temperatures on Saturday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

Colder air is expected to move back into the area on Saturday night with temperatures falling into the middle 30s. Temperatures during the day on Sunday will hold steady in the middle 30s. In addition to this, rain is expected on Saturday night and Sunday morning that could change to a brief period of freezing rain or snow before it ends Sunday afternoon. This is something to keep an eye on, however, it’s nothing to be overly concerned about right now.
