WORCESTER – The Worcester Police are investigating a shooting on Plantation St. on Monday morning, October 5.
Police dispatched to Plantation St. in response to a ShotSpotter activation around 1 AM. EMS treated a 21-year-old victim for non-life-threatening injuries.
The initial investigation led to the arrest of Samuel Cherry, 19, of Lancaster, and Joessy Beaz, 21, of Worcester, for several charges related to the incident.
Police located and arrested Beaz and Cherry near Chandler St. and Dewey St.
Cherry faces charges of:
- Assault and Battery w/ Dangerous Weapon (Firearm)
- Assault and Battery by Discharging a Firearm
- Armed assault with Intent to Rob or Murder
- Discharging a Firearm within 500’ of a Dwelling
- Unlawful Carrying a Firearm
- Unlawful Carry of a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition (Unlawful)
Beaz faces charges of:
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
- Assault and Battery with a Gun
- Armed Assault to Murder
The investigation is ongoing.
