April is known for bringing showers, but don’t let a few raindrops keep you from going out! Get out of the house and enjoy time in the city.

ThisWeekinWorcester.com has your list of five fun things to do this weekend, rain or shine! What excitement is in store for you this Saturday and Sunday?

Fans of coming-of-age literature will be thrilled this weekend!

Join Leicester Unitarian Church this Saturday at 1 PM for a discussion about a famous American author.

Come and learn how Louisa May Alcott, author of the novel “Little Women,” is connected to the town of Leicester. This event will provide information about Alcott’s life, her relationship to other American authors like Emerson and Thoreau and her inspiration for her books.

Celebrate your  Italian heritage this weekend!

This Saturday evening you are invited to Shrewsbury Street’s Italian Heritage Parade Fashion Show!

Drive down to Union Station at 2 Washington Square in Worcester for a great night. Doors open at 5:30 PM with appetizers, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 PM and a fashion show at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $75 per person and includes the meal, the fashion show, raffles, and more.

Party like a pop icon!

The MB Lounge in Worcester is throwing a Purple Party, a Prince-themed extravaganza! Drive your red corvette over to the MB Lounge Lounge to party like it’s 1999.

The doors open at 8 PM on Saturday and the party will go on until 1:30 AM. Concert videos of Prince’s performances will air from 8 PM to 10 PM, and, then, dance along to his greatest hits.

Embrace Earth Day with a craft all to do with nature!

This weekend bring the Little ones to the Gypsy Rose in Oxford for a craft kids will love.

On Saturday from 2 PM to 4 PM, the Gypsy Rose is holding a Family Friendly Fairy Garden and Terrarium Class. Each child will be able to make a Fairy Garden and their accompanying guardian will make a terrarium.
