The summer is hot and your social life can be even hotter! Spice up your weekend with enticing events!

Enjoy the warm weather and find outdoor seating at a local restaurant, wear a mask to a ballroom dance, or stay indoors and find your inner peace with poetry! 

 

Why sit on the couch this Saturday when you can get fit?

Sign up for Fit FRIENDzy Studio’s second outdoor event! Drive over to the studio at 196 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury for three separate classes to work you out. Feel the burn at 9:15 AM, 11:15 AM, or 1:30 PM when each yoga inspired workout begins. 

These events follow social distancing guidelines, so class sizes are limited and masks must be worn when participants are not six feet apart from each other. Make sure to register before the classes through their app. 

 

Log-in to an iconic webinar!

The Museum of Russian Icons is bringing the museum to you this Saturday from 1 PM to 2 PM with their Icons in the Time of Trouble Webinar.

Use Zoom to listen to iconographer Lydia Lynette Hull as she connects the past to the present. She will explain what people did with icons during catastrophes, natural disasters, and social or political turmoil. She will pose the question if these stories shed any light to our modern times? Get tickets to find the answer to this question and more. Tickets are $5 for nonmembers, but the webinar is free for members. 

 

Get all dolled up with the cutest social distancing accessory, your mask!

You are invited to ABL DanceSport Center’s Mask-Querade Dancing Party this Saturday from 7 PM to 10 PM. Get ready for ballroom dancing. All tickets are $15 per person, but only 12 couples can attend; make your reservation by calling the center. 

 

Stay out late and laugh all night!

Join Woohaha at the Worcester Beer Garden and Pavilion for a comedy night! Have comedy take away your stress this Saturday from 9 PM to 11 PM as you eat delicious food and drinks outside at a safe distance from others.

The show will feature the comedy talents of Christine Hurley, Corey Rodirigues, Brian Glowacki, and Jimmy Cash. Tickets are available for tables of two, tables of four, and tables of six people. 

 

Find your zen this Sunday!

Listen to the poetry of zen summer discussion group this Sunday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

This event is hosted by Boundless Way Temple and will discuss how zen practices can help you understand poetry at a deeper level. This poetry reading session is free and it will focus Zen and Japanese poetry. if you are interested in this class, then tune into the next five throughout July and August!
