WORCESTER – Police arrested a man during the morning on Monday, July 12, shortly after an armed robbery of a local store.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at gunpoint at Honey Farms at 237 Cambridge Street around 5:35 AM. The suspect reportedly walked up to the clerk, pulled out a firearm and demanded money before fleeing on foot.
Another officer made a traffic stop on Oread Street around 6:40 AM. The person in the vehicle, Wilfred Zayzay, 30, of Worcester, was wearing the clothing that matched what officers reported they saw in surveillance footage at Honey Farms.
Officers who viewed that footage then identified Zayzay as the same person as in the video.
Zayzay faces charges of:
- Armed Robbery
- Use of a Firearm in a Felony
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
