WORCESTER – The City of Worcester is requesting proposals for mental health-counseling services for students in grades Pre-K-12 at up to 15 schools.
A request for proposal was issued on Oct. 7.
Worcester Public Schools currently employs staff that support students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs. The goal of the RFP is to provide additional student support by providing in-person counseling and support for students at selected schools.
The selected counseling service provider will have to staff a minimum of one counselor at each selected school for at least 20 hours per week for the full school year. Counselors must hold appropriate professional licensure.
Providers will be expected to provide a variety of mental health services such as:
- Counseling
- Family Counseling
- Mentoring
- Assessment
- Behavior Management
- Mental Health (assessment and evaluation)
- Child development
- Adolescent care
- Coping skills
- Emergency services/consultation
- Restorative practices
- Training
The deadline to submit proposals is Nov. 2, 2022. The selected provider would sign a contract through June 30, 2023. WPS will have the option to renew the contract for future school years. To read the full proposal, click here.
