The eastbound side of Rt. I-290 closed for three hours on Friday night, June 26, after a fatal crash.
Investigators from the Massachusetts State Police [MSP] believe a 2014 Jeep Wrangler on the off ramp from Rt. I-290 to Rt. 190 and the Burncoat St. exit crossed over the sidewall of the left lane and overpass.

The Wrangler came to a rest in the travel lanes of Rt. I-290 East.
The 50-year-old man from Worcester driving the Wrangler was declared deceased at the scene. A 18-year-old woman was a passenger and suffered minor injuries.
Police believe there may be a second vehicle involved in the incident. Anyone with information or dash cam video is asked to call the MSP Holden Barracks at 508-829-8410.
