WORCESTER – Police in Worcester responded to a report of a man with an illegal rifle in his vehicle on December 8.
Officers stopped a vehicle near Main St. and King St. and saw what they believed to be an AR-15 on the floor of the back seat.
The driver, Raymond Avila, 35, of Worcester, does not have an FID card or license to carry firearms
Officers also located crack cocaine and prescription medications inside the vehicle. Avila did not have a prescription for the medications.
Avila faces the following charges:
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute (Oxycodone)
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute (Adderall)
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute (cocaine)
- Unlawfully Carrying a Rifle
- Possession of a Loaded Rifle without a License
- Possession of a Rifle while Committing a Felony
- Improper Storage of a Rifle, Possession of an Assault Weapon
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
