Worcester Man Arrested in Stolen U-Haul Van with Drugs

WORCESTER – Police arrested a local man on Friday, July 23, for a stolen vehicle and previous warrants.

A police officer on Mill Street notices a U-Haul van in a parking lot at around 10 PM. Using the Criminal Justice Information Services system to run the license plate, the officer learned the vehicle was reported stolen.

U-Haul vans are the subject of several recent thefts. Some stolen vans were used in other crimes, according to Worcester Police.

The officer approached and removed Nicholas Lynch, 35, of Worcester, from the van. Three warrants for Lynch’s arrest were active.

Officers located cocaine inside the vehicle.

Lynch faces charges of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Class B Substance.
