WORCESTER – A clerk at a Main St. convenience store angered two customers after 2 AM on the morning of Saturday, June 13, by refusing to conduct a sale after the store had closed.
The ensuing confrontation led to two men being arrested on weapons charges.
After being refused service, one of the two men at the store retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and pointed it at the store clerk. The clerk retreated to the back of the store and notified police.
A K9 officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle shortly thereafter and received permission to search the vehicle.
The officer deployed K9 Mattis who soon detected a loaded firearm under the passenger seat of that vehicle.
Zachary Garcia, 22, Worcester, faces the following charges:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Use of a Firearm in a Felony
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Defacing a Firearm Serial Number
Erik Matos, 20, Boston, faces the following charges:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Use of a Firearm in a Felony
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Defacing a Firearm Serial Number
