23-Year-Old Worester Man Arrested for Main St. Shooting

WORCESTER – Worcester Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting near Main St. and King St. just before 10 AM on Sunday, May 10.

As ThisWeekInWorcester.com previously reported, a 39-year-old man was found by police, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transferred to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation by police revealed the victim as shot while attempting to flee an armed robbery.

Seamus Carey, a 23-year-old man from Worcester, is under arrest for the shooting.

Carey faces charges that include Armed Robbery, Armed Assault to Murder, Use of a Firearm in a Felony, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Firearm Violation with 3 Prior Violent or Drug Crimes.
