WORCESTER – Living in or near the second largest city in New England leaves residents with no shortage of events to attend, activities to be entertained by, and food and drink to enjoy.

This month — April 2019 — Worcester has its hands full with loads of great events — from beer festivals to charity events, fashion and sporting events, and everything in between.

Here’s ThisWeekinWorcester.com’s 10 great events happening in Worcester this month that we’re especially looking forward to:

What: Beyond Wrestling Live Streaming Debut

Where: Electric Haze – 26 Millbury St., Worcester

When: 8 PM to 10 PM

 

Saturday, April 6

What: Why Me All-Stars vs Boston Bruins Alumni/Worcester Railers vs Newfoundland Growlers Doubleheader 

The Why Me All Stars take on the Boston Bruins Alumni. Two dollars from each ticket sold goes directly to Why Me. Following the game is the Worcester Railers vs. Newfoundland Growlers.

When: 3 PM to 9 PM

What: Worcester Music Awards

Where: The Palladium – 261 Main St., Worcester

When: 7 PM to 11:30 PM

Thursday, April 11

What: Glazy Susan Pop-up with Timberyard Brewing

Where: Ed Hyder’s Mediterranean Marketplace – 408 Pleasant St., Worcester

When: 5 PM to 7 PM

 

Saturday, April 13

What: Massachusetts Pirates Home Opener vs. Carolina Cobras

Where: DCU Center, 50 Foster St., Worcester

When: 7 PM

 

Saturday, April 20

What: Brew Woo

Where: DCU Center, 50 Foster St., Worcester

When: Similar to past years, Brew Woo will have two sessions — an afternoon session from 1 PM to  4 PM and an evening session from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Tickets to each session consists of 30 drink tickets and one sample glass.

 

What: Polar Park Family Fashion Event

Free event open to everyone – The Art of Fashion will design a collection of community created designs inspired by Worcester’s own DELICIOUS Polar Beverage seltzer flavors, and the NEW Polar Park! They’ll have large forms, small forms, sketch models, and a live model, to create some fashion using Polar cans, packaging, and baseball themed designs. Some of the pieces made at the event will be part of the Worcester 100: A Century Of Style Fashion Show, being held on Saturday, May 10 at the Worcester Historical Museum.

What: A Night of Comedy: A Benefit for the Ava Roy Fund

The Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009 presents a night of comedy featuring Kendra Cunningham, James Dorsey, Jimmy Dunn, Chris Tabb and Tony V. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Ava Roy Fund. Come out and enjoy this great event with some of the funniest comedians on the East Coast, while honoring fallen hero and firefighter Christopher Roy.

What: New England VegFest

A free event: New England VegFest is back! We’re celebrating 10 years of tastiness with the best fest yet. Celebrate with us as we bring together more than 100 vendors to serve up free samples, savory meals, sweet treats, and an array of animal-friendly apparel and products.
