Bay State Savings Bank Charitable Donations
Bay State Savings Bank recently distributed more than $17,000 to local non-profits through the bank’s charitable foundation.

- Dress for Success Worcester, Inc.
- Living in Freedom Together
- Love Your Labels

Junior League of Worcester Moves Annual Fundraiser Online
The Junior League of Worcester announced on Wednesday, October 21, that its fourth annual Wreath Workshop Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, November 28 at 7PM.
Teaming with Sparkle on Park, the JLW curated five do-it-yourself packages complete with a fresh wreath, ribbon, and decorations to create from the comfort of your own home.
This year’s event will use a virtual format, with a live stream, as well as a recorded video if the start-time is incompatible with one’s schedule.
The Junior League of Worcester is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
Community Foundation Awards Nearly $140k in Grants
The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts announced Wednesday, October 21 that it has awarded six community enrichment grants totaling $82,000, and six organizational development grants totaling $55,345, in the third quarter of 2020.
Community enrichment grants include:
- $20,000 to Advocates in Framingham to provide free behavioral health services to vulnerable seniors living in north central Massachusetts
- $5,000 to Best Buddies MA/RI for Peer Buddy programs for students with disabilities in 11 schools in the region
- $15,000 to Seeds of Solidarity in Orange for new wellness, food security and educational programs for women in the North Quabbin greater region who have faced isolation (including as survivors of incarceration), poverty, chronic health issues or racial injustice
- $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg in support of dance, movement and expressive arts therapy
- $10,000 to More Than Conquerors to support a program of financial education for local residents
- $22,000 to NewVue Communities in Fitchburg to support its Regional Impact Initiative broadening their community development efforts across North Central Massachusetts

The Worcester Red Sox mascot, Smiley Ball, will be at the Worcester Ice Center as part of a Worcester Sports Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, October 24.
The Worcester Railers, Worcester Bravehearts, Massachusetts Pirates and WooSox merchandise will be available for sale from noon to 3 PM.
Worcester Wares will also be selling Worcester gear and other items.

McDonald’s Offering Free Delivery with Uber Eats on Halloween
Halloween will look a little different this year, but McDonald’s is hoping to give people something to look forward to.
McDonald’s will be offering free delivery on Uber Eats on orders of $25 or more from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1.
- The offer expires 11:59pm on 11/1. At participating McDonald’s. Taxes and a Service Fee still apply.
