Worcester’s Out to Lunch Concert Series Kicks Off Today

Beginning today, and every Thursday afternoon following [with the exception of July 4], from 11 AM to 2 PM each week, the City of Worcester and the Worcester Cultural Coalition will host its Out to Lunch Music Festival and Farmers Market Series. 

This summer marks the 10 year celebration of the festival and will feature talented local artists, delicious food, handmade crafts and more.

171 Trainees to Graduate from Mass. State Police Academy Today at DCU Center

The Massachusetts State Police 84th Recruit Training Troop will graduate from the State Police Academy today in a 9:30 AM ceremony at the DCU Center in Worcester.

A total of 171 trainees will be pinned with their badges and become Massachusetts State Troopers. The graduation ceremony is the culmination of six-months of intensive training at the Department’s academy in New Braintree.

The trainees, who will all be assigned to road patrols, will report to their assigned barracks Friday. For the first three months of their career as MSP Troopers, each new trooper will be paired with a veteran trooper who will serve as a field training officer.

Worcester’s Goddard Library Branch to Host Mad Science

The Worcester Public Library’s Goddard Branch — 14 Richards Street (inside the Goddard School of Science and Technology) — will host a performance by Mad Science on Saturday, June 29 at 10 AM. This program is just one of the many public events WPL offers year round, and is part of “A Universe of Stories” Summer Reading.

Mad Science is a leading science enrichment provider, who delivers unique, hands-on science experiences for children that are as entertaining as they are educational.
