Nearly 1,600 Businesses Receive New Round of State Grants

Governor Charlie Baker’s office announced on Wednesday, January 13, $78.5 million in grants to nearly 1,595 businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Restaurants and bars, personal care, retail, and health care businesses were the most represented businesses among the most recent awardees.

This third round of grants from the COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program brings the total of $195 million in direct financial support to 4,119 small businesses in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation [MGCC], which administers the fund, expects to announce a new round of grants from the $668 million fund in the near future.

The next application deadline is Friday, January 15. More information about the fund and how to apply is on a MGCC website dedicated to the program.
