Green Party Presidential Candidates in Worcester on Saturday

WORCESTER – The Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party, the state party affiliated with the national Green Partyhosts a presidential candidate meet and greet at First Unitarian Church, at 90 Main St. in Worcester, on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 1 PM to 5 PM.

The event features six candidates seeking to represent the Green party as its nominee for President of the United States. Some candidates will be in person, while others may participate via Zoom. For access to the Zoom link, email [email protected].

Candidates

Dr. Jill Stein is expected to attend the event in-person. She was the Green-Rainbow nominee for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002 and 2010 and Secretary of the Commonwealth in 2006. He most successful run for statewide office was 2006, when she earned 335,551 (17%) from Massachusetts voters against the incumbent Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Gavin. She also ran for state representative in 2004, losing to Democratic Party incumbent Thomas Stanley.

In 2005, Stein was elected as a local representative in Lexington and re-elected in 2008. She resigned that seat to run for governor for the second time in 2010.

Stein seeks the Green Party nomination for president for the third time this year. She was the party’s candidate in both 2012 and 2016.

Stein graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1979 and practiced internal medicine for 25 years at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Simmons College Health Center, and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.

Randy Toler is the Co-Founder Green Party of US and Co-Chair Green Party of Florida. He managed mainframe computer partner programs for IBM and CA Technologies and has a B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Jorge Zavala is the founder and CEO of ShowRoom Doctor Z Inc. and the creator of MiracleSpritz, a line of environmentally-friendly and sustainably produced cleaning solutions and beauty care products.

DaShaun “Davi” Davis is a musician, choreographer, tech founder, and was a candidate for New York City Mayor in 2021.

Jasmine Sherman, of New York, is currently Executive Director of Greater Charlotte Rise, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to immediate housing relief in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. They have a masters degree in Finance from University of Phoenix.

Robert Cooke, of Texas, also seeks the Green Party nomination.
