WORCESTER – Work has started at Quinsigamond State Park this week ahead of planned upgrades to the popular park along Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester.
On Tuesday, a bulldozer was tearing up the old turf in preparation for the installment of new turf on the park’s football field and a brand new walking and running track around the field.
The Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation and Recreation [DCR] announced the upgrades back in Sept. 2018 and had originally planned to have the new track and turf ready by the fall of 2019.
The track and field are currently surrounded by fencing. The 1.1 mile walking path around the park and the tennis courts remain open.
