WORCESTER – A local man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Worcester for conspiracy to distribute cocaine on Tuesday.

Bruce Marando, 48, of Sutton, was sentenced to 57 months in prison and three years of supervised release after being convicted by a federal jury on August 20, 2021, of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

According to federal prosecutors, agents identified Marando as part of a drug trafficking organization based in Worcester from March to May 2017. Intercepted communications revealed numerous conversations in which Marando discussed purchasing, selling, and distributing cocaine to satisfy a $12,000 debt that Murando owed Nuzzolilo. Those communications also revealed  that Marando and Nuzzolilo regularly discussed using physical violence to assault customers unable to pay their debts.

During the course of the investigation, investigators seized 250 grams of cocaine. Nuzzolilo  was sentenced to 134 months in prison and eight years of supervised release in April 2020.
