With Halloween just weeks away, CandyStore.com has released its annual map of the most popular Halloween candy in each state.
In Massachusetts, the top trick-or-treat candy of 2022 is Sour Patch Kids, with nearly 70,000 pounds of the candy sold in the Bay State this year.
Butterfingers and Dubble Bubble chewing gum are second and third, respectively, behind Sour Patch Kids in popularity this Halloween in Massachusetts.
CandyStore.com uses their own sales data from the past 15 years and data from industry partners to determine the most popular Halloween candy in each state. The most popular Halloween candy in 2022 nationally is Reese’s peanut butter cups, followed by Skittles and M&M’s.
According to CandyStore.com, the National Retail Foundation predicts consumer spending for Halloween should reach an all-time high of $3.1 billion this year.
