LEOMINSTER – Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early Jr. has filed charges in Leominster District Court in the shooting death of Franklin Mane, 19, of Worcester, in May 2021.
Wilbert Nieves, 25, of Fitchburg is scheduled to be arraigned on a murder charge on June 1.
Mane’s body was discovered in an overgrown area near a parking lot on May 12, 2021, in Leominster. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was homicide caussd by gunshot wounds.
Nieves is already in custody in Massachusetts on unrelated firearms charges.
Early’s office says the investigation is ongoing.
