Late Friday afternoon, Massachusetts State Police [MSP] troopers arrested a Pennsylvania man after a car chase that led them to Rt. 146 near Worcester.
According to the MSP, Genareo Brice, 28, of Chester, Penn., was speeding on Rt. 84 eastbound before the Mass. Pike exit, when Trooper James Farrell — assigned to the the State Police Sturbridge Barracks — observed Brice’s 2017 Nissan Altima and attempted to stop the vehicle.

Brice fled from Trooper Farrell at an extremely high rate of speed. The pursuit continued on 90 Eastbound, where other troopers joined in the pursuit. Brice then continued onto Rt. 146 where it attempted to take the Exit 12 — to Rt. 290 West/Vernon Hill/Rt. 122A — off-ramp at a high rate of speed.
As Brice was attempting to exit, the vehicle’s hood opened and blocked his view, causing him to crash. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and Brice wasn’t injured.
After the crash, troopers learned that Brice was a Fugitive from Justice who was wanted in Pennsylvania [for reasons currently unknown to MSP media relations].

Brice was booked at the State Police-Sturbridge barracks on the following charges:
1. Fugitive From Justice on Court Warrant;
2. Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle;
3. Failure to Stop for Police;
4. Speeding; and
5. Breakdown Lane Violation.
Brice is being held until his arraignment at Dudley District Court, where arrangements will be made for his transportation to Pennsylvania.
