WORCESTER – Over the next three days, thousands of winter coats will be donated throughout Worcester County to those in need.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Central Mass Agency on Aging will be donating and delivering more than 2,000 brand new winter jackets from Tuesday, December 1 to Thursday, December 3.

“Especially during the holiday season, it is vitally important to remember those who may be struggling during this challenging time. Instead of cancelling our annual winter coat drive due to the constraints of COVID, our department doubled down on our commitment to help those in need during the cold winter months,” said Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis.

The Sheriff’s Office will be making donations in Worcester, Gardner, Fitchburg, Leominster, Milford, Shrewsbury, Webster and Southbridge.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Sheriff’s office will be distributing 300 coats at Saint John’s Food for the Poor in Worcester.
