MA State Trooper Dies 2 Years After Line-of-Duty Incident

Massachusetts State Police Trooper Thomas Devlin, 58, has died due to injuries he sustained in the line-of-duty in 2018.

Devlin pulled over a vehicle on Rt. 3 in Billerica on July 26, 2018. The driver of another vehicle struck Devlin while he was conducting the stop.

A man from Haverhill was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle in connection with the incident.

Devlin underwent several surgeries over more than two years since the crash. He died on Thursday, September 3.

Devlin was in his 35th year of service at the time of his death.

Devlin is married with four children.
